Prohibited & Restricted Items Policy

Effective Date: June 12, 2026

1. Purpose

This Prohibited & Restricted Items Policy forms part of the parcelrun Terms of Service and applies to all services provided by parcelrun Pty Ltd (ABN 98 665 950 201), including delivery, returns, fulfilment, warehousing, first-mile, mid-mile, last-mile, retail distribution, technology platforms, and any related services.

Customers are responsible for ensuring that all goods submitted to parcelrun comply with this Policy and all applicable laws.

Parcelrun reserves the right to refuse, inspect, isolate, hold, return, dispose of, destroy, report, or otherwise deal with any item that parcelrun reasonably believes may breach this Policy.

2. Customer Responsibility

Customers warrant that:

  • Goods are accurately described
  • Goods are lawful to transport and store
  • Goods comply with all applicable laws
  • Goods are appropriately packaged and labelled
  • All declarations are accurate and complete
  • No prohibited items are submitted unless expressly approved by parcelrun in writing

Customers remain solely responsible for the contents of all consignments.

3. Prohibited Items

The following items must not be submitted to parcelrun under any circumstances unless expressly approved by parcelrun in writing.

  • Illegal Goods
  • Illegal drugs
  • Controlled substances
  • Drug paraphernalia
  • Counterfeit goods
  • Stolen goods
  • Illegal imports or exports
  • Goods subject to sanctions
  • Any item unlawful to possess, transport, distribute or sell
  • Weapons & Dangerous Devices
  • Firearms
  • Ammunition
  • Explosives
  • Fireworks
  • Detonators
  • Tasers
  • Crossbows
  • Weapons prohibited by law
  • Weapon components and accessories
  • Hazardous Materials
  • Flammable liquids
  • Flammable gases
  • Corrosive substances
  • Toxic substances
  • Radioactive materials
  • Biohazards
  • Infectious substances
  • Oxidising agents
  • Compressed gases
  • Hazardous chemicals
  • Dangerous Goods

Any goods classified as Dangerous Goods under applicable legislation unless expressly approved by parcelrun.

4. Restricted Items

The following items may be accepted only at parcelrun’s discretion and may be subject to additional requirements, approvals, packaging standards, fees, handling procedures or service limitations.

Lithium Batteries

Including:

  • Standalone batteries
  • Power banks
  • E-bike batteries
  • Battery-powered devices

Alcohol

Where legally permitted.

Tobacco & Vaping Products

Where legally permitted.

Perishable Goods

Including:

  • Food products
  • Fresh produce
  • Frozen goods
  • Temperature-sensitive goods

Pharmaceuticals

Including:

  • Prescription medicines
  • Medical devices
  • Health products

Valuable Goods

Including:

  • Jewellery
  • Watches
  • Precious metals
  • Precious stones
  • Collectables
  • Antiques
  • Artwork

High-Risk Electronics

Including:

  • Mobile phones
  • Laptops
  • Tablets
  • Cameras
  • Gaming systems

Confidential Materials

Including:

  • Legal documents
  • Identity documents
  • Financial records
  • Sensitive business information

5. Items Not Suitable for Transit

Parcelrun may refuse items that:

  • Are inadequately packaged
  • Are likely to leak
  • Are fragile or unstable
  • May damage other consignments
  • Present unreasonable handling risks
  • Require specialist handling not offered by parcelrun
  • Exceed service dimensions or weight limitations
  • Cannot be safely transported.

6. Live Animals & Biological Materials

Parcelrun does not transport:

  • Live animals
  • Human remains
  • Biological specimens
  • Infectious samples
  • Blood products
  • Biological waste

unless expressly agreed in writing.

7. Cash & Negotiable Instruments

Parcelrun does not transport:

  • Cash
  • Bank notes
  • Coins
  • Gift cards
  • Lottery tickets
  • Negotiable instruments
  • Securities
  • Cryptocurrency wallets or hardware devices containing significant value, unless expressly approved in writing

8. Customer Declarations

Customers may be required to:

  • Declare contents
  • Provide Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
  • Provide dangerous goods declarations
  • Provide import or export documentation
  • Provide licences or permits
  • Provide proof of ownership
  • Provide additional supporting information

Failure to provide requested information may result in refusal of service.

9. Inspection Rights

Parcelrun reserves the right to:

  • Inspect consignments
  • Verify declarations
  • Open packages where reasonably necessary
  • Scan or screen items
  • Request supporting documentation
  • Engage authorities where required by law

Parcelrun is under no obligation to inspect goods and does not warrant that prohibited items will be detected.

10. Breach of Policy

Where parcelrun reasonably believes a consignment breaches this Policy, parcelrun may:

  • Refuse collection
  • Refuse delivery
  • Suspend services
  • Return goods
  • Dispose of goods
  • Destroy goods where required by law
  • Notify regulators
  • Notify law enforcement agencies
  • Recover associated costs from the customer
  • Terminate customer accounts

No refund is payable in respect of services impacted by a breach of this Policy.

11. Costs & Liability

Customers are liable for all costs, losses, damages, claims, fines, penalties, expenses and liabilities arising from:

  • Prohibited goods
  • Restricted goods not properly declared
  • Dangerous goods
  • Incorrect declarations
  • Packaging failures
  • Regulatory breaches
  • Breaches of this Policy

Customers indemnify parcelrun against all claims arising from such matters.

12. Changes to this Policy

Parcelrun may amend this Policy from time to time.

Updated versions will be published on the parcelrun website and become effective upon publication.
