Privacy Policy

Effective date: 13 September 2026

This policy explains how PARCELRUN PTY LTD (ABN 98 665 950 201; ACN 665 950 201), trading as Parcelrun, handles personal information across our website, customer and courier apps, booking and tracking platforms, delivery, returns, fulfilment and support services. Our main business location is NSW 2010, Australia. Contact our Privacy Officer at hello@parcelrun.com.au.

We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and Australian Privacy Principles where applicable. This policy is information about our practices, not a request for blanket consent. Where consent is required for a particular activity, we seek it separately. See our Personal Information Collection Notice and Terms of Service.

1. Information we collect

Customers, business contacts and recipients: names, email addresses, phone numbers, account and business details, ABN where relevant, collection and delivery addresses, delivery instructions, order and tracking records, correspondence, billing and transaction information, and proof of delivery such as signatures or delivery photographs. A business account may include personal information about its representatives.

Couriers and workforce applicants: contact and business details, qualifications, driver licence, vehicle and insurance details, identity and right-to-work documents, payment or banking details, and emergency contacts where reasonably necessary for the engagement or a legal requirement. These workforce requirements do not automatically apply to ordinary customer registration.

Website and app use: IP address, browser and device information, access and security logs, session information, usage and diagnostic information. Location, camera and photo access may be used for dispatch, navigation, tracking and proof of delivery. Courier background location may be collected while relevant delivery functions operate and the required device permission is enabled. Permission can be changed in device settings; disabling it may prevent the affected feature from working.

We seek only information reasonably necessary for our functions. Please do not put health information, identity documents or other sensitive details in delivery notes unless we specifically request them for a lawful purpose. Where sensitive information is needed, we obtain consent unless an applicable legal exception permits collection.

2. How we collect information

We collect information directly when you register, book, contact us, use our services or apply to work with us. We also receive recipient and delivery details from senders, merchants and authorised account users; operational updates from couriers and logistics partners; and relevant transaction, verification and technical information from service providers. If you give us another person’s details, you must be authorised to do so and make our collection notice available to them where practicable.

You may make a general enquiry anonymously or using a pseudonym where lawful and practicable. We usually need accurate contact, delivery and payment details to maintain an account or perform a delivery. If required information is withheld, we may be unable to assess an application, provide the requested service or resolve a claim.

3. Why we use information

We use information to assess and administer accounts and applications; arrange, dispatch, track and complete deliveries and returns; provide fulfilment and support; process payments and reconcile accounts; verify authorised users and suitable workforce engagements; investigate failed deliveries, complaints and claims; protect safety and security; prevent fraud; maintain and improve our services; and meet applicable legal obligations.

We use or disclose information for the purpose of collection, a related purpose you would reasonably expect where permitted, with consent, or as otherwise permitted or required by law. An account application does not itself guarantee approval or service availability.

4. Who receives information

Information is shared as reasonably needed with authorised staff; the sender, recipient and authorised account users; couriers, delivery and fulfilment partners; and providers of hosting, software, maps, routing, tracking, payments, communications, analytics, security and support. We may also disclose relevant information to professional advisers, insurers, regulators, courts or law enforcement where permitted or required, or for a business transaction subject to appropriate confidentiality and lawful handling.

We do not sell personal information. Tracking links and proof of delivery can reveal delivery details; only share them with people authorised to receive that information.

5. Overseas handling

Some technology and service providers may store or process information outside Australia. Whether an arrangement amounts to an overseas disclosure depends on the provider’s access and our effective control over the information. We take reasonable steps required by APP 8 before overseas disclosure and do not treat acceptance of this policy as a waiver of Australian privacy protections.

Locations depend on the provider and service used; a verified country-by-country list is not currently available in this policy. Contact our Privacy Officer for information about the overseas arrangements relevant to your service. Where practicable, we identify likely overseas recipient countries in the applicable collection notice or an update to this policy.

6. Cookies, analytics and marketing

Our website and platforms may use cookies and similar technologies for essential functions, security, preferences, analytics and marketing measurement. Browser or device settings can control or remove these technologies, although some features may be affected. Where law requires consent for a technology or use, it must be obtained separately.

Marketing is sent only where permitted by applicable law, including the Spam Act 2003 (Cth). You can unsubscribe using the message’s facility or contact us. We honour valid unsubscribe requests within the applicable statutory period. Opting out of marketing does not stop necessary booking, delivery, account or security messages. Registration and acknowledgement of this policy are not, by themselves, marketing consent.

7. Security and retention

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect information against misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. No online system is completely secure. Keep account credentials and tracking links secure and report suspected misuse promptly.

We retain information for as long as reasonably needed to deliver services, administer contracts and payments, comply with applicable record-keeping obligations, resolve disputes and maintain necessary operational and security records. The period depends on the information and purpose. When it is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it unless retention is required by law. Closing an account does not automatically erase records we must retain. We assess suspected data breaches and notify affected individuals and the OAIC when required under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

8. Access, correction and other requests

Email our Privacy Officer to request access to your personal information or correction of inaccurate, outdated, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading information. Describe your request without sending unnecessary identity documents. We may reasonably verify identity and authority. We respond within a reasonable period and explain any lawful refusal and available complaint process. Making an access request is free; any permitted charge for providing access will be reasonable and explained in advance. We do not charge for correction requests.

You may ask about deletion or withdraw consent for a consent-based activity. We explain any retention requirement or service consequence. Australian privacy law does not provide an unconditional right to erase every record. Additional rights may apply if another jurisdiction’s law applies to your circumstances.

9. Privacy complaints

Send complaints to hello@parcelrun.com.au, addressed to the Privacy Officer, with the issue, relevant dates and preferred outcome. We assess the complaint, investigate relevant records and respond within a reasonable period. If more time is needed, we explain why and keep you informed. If you are dissatisfied, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner or call 1300 363 992. The OAIC generally asks that you first complain to the organisation and allow it a reasonable opportunity to respond.

10. Changes and contact

We publish updates on this page with an effective date and take reasonable steps to draw significant changes to your attention where appropriate. An update does not retrospectively supply consent for a new purpose. For privacy enquiries or an accessible copy, contact PARCELRUN PTY LTD, Privacy Officer, hello@parcelrun.com.au.
